The main entrance is on Baldurstrasse. The grounds extend to Wintrichring and Dachauer Strasse, so another entrance may be more convenient for a distant burial section.
Visitor address
The postal address of Städtische Friedhöfe München is Damenstiftstrasse 8, 80331 Munich. It is not the destination for a cemetery visit.
Underground, tram and bus
The main entrance is close to a lift for Westfriedhof underground station, the Westfriedhof bus stop and a taxi rank. The map also shows Hanauer Strasse tram stop, bus platforms at Sadelerstrasse and Amphionpark, and bus and tram stops at Wintrichring.
The map provides spatial orientation only. Routes, timetables, lift outages and works can change; check the journey shortly before departure.
Entrances
The official plan shows eleven visitor entrances: the main entrance on Baldurstrasse, Lenbachtor, Tor am Teich, Tor Nederling, Heimgartentor, Wintrichring, Dachauer Strasse North and South, Hanauer Strasse, an additional northern entrance and a further entrance on Baldurstrasse.
Compare them on the cemetery map before planning a route to a particular section.
Parking
The official plan marks parking on several sides of the grounds. The interactive map contains six specifically located parking areas. Parking by the main entrance is mapped as fee-paying; areas by Wintrichring and Dachauer Strasse North are mapped without a fee. The parking by Tor Nederling and Tor am Teich has a four-hour daytime limit on working days in OSM.
